## Theme
Groundworks for Meditation
Meditation as a vehicle for transcendence
## Overview
My aim is to provide a strong foundation in mindfulness meditation by providing a thorough walkthrough of both technique and theory.
We will review the basics of posture, breath and concentration while also covering foundational ideas of Buddhism that support the practice of right view, right concentration and right mindfulness and how these apply to a sitting practice.
We will cover the big ideas of Buddhism such as: the [[Four Noble Truths]] and the [[3 Marks of Existence]] to help form a better understanding of the deeper intentions of meditation and how to approach common obstacles on the path to [[Nirvana]] (or freedom).
***After covering these fundamental teachings we will dive into a more broad discussion about:***
- How mindfulness supports our work in other modalities such as therapies, energy healing, creative arts and transpersonal experiences
- How to use meditation for integration work and preparation for insight
- How to support a daily practice
